Sharing History, Connecting Community

Every new donation or increase over a past gift will be matched dollar for dollar by The Zakim Fund up to $2,500!

For almost 46 years, Queer History Boston (QHB) has connected our community through the power of our shared history — one photo, one story, one voice at a time.

From preserving photos of the first Pride to recording oral histories with LGBTQ+ elders, we keep our history visible and accessible. When queer and trans people are erased from the public record, it doesn’t just remove us from history; it isolates us from each other. We saw the impact of that loss firsthand when the National Park Service removed queer and trans history from NPS websites. But when our stories are shared, and we are reminded of our resiliency, creativity, and care, those connections come back to life.

This year’s campaign, Unerased: Sharing History, Connecting Community, celebrates that power. Together, we are rebuilding belonging, bridging differences, and preserving the joy and defiance that define our community. We cannot be erased.

History isn’t just about the past - it’s how we build connection, identity, and care for the future. Help us keep our stories — and our connections — alive.

Your donation supports:

• Preserving queer and trans materials, including restoring those removed from federal websites.
Digitizing and expanding access to community materials.
• Producing public programs, oral histories, and exhibits that bring people together through history and storytelling.
